Puppies and legislation
We love puppies but Durham County Council has strict legislation over the minimum age home boarders are allowed to take on. As we have our own dogs, we can only accept puppies aged six months and above. We are in discussions with DDC to see if this situation can be resolved as our neighbouring counties don’t have this restriction. Puppies need socialisation with people and other dogs to ensure they become well-rounded and happy adults. We always ensure our own dogs are vaccinated and up to date with flea & worming. Any doggy boarders we have all have to provide evidence too and that also goes for puppies.
