We have experience of looking after rescue dogs. For whatever reason there are literally hundreds of pooches living with uncertainty in their short lives and we helped look after a few while their new forever-owners are decorating, at work or in need of some respite. Being trusted with a rescue dog is a humbling experience. Humbling in the sense that an owner is trusting you with their fragile bundle of fur and also that you are doing your small part towards their rehabilitation.
There are many charities who specialise in re-homing rescue dogs. We like the work that the Dog’s Trust does nationally. The latest list of dogs needing forever homes in our area is the Darlington branch.
We gladly take on rescue dogs in Day Care or Dog Boarding. What we would ask of you is to know as much as possible about their history and behaviour so that we can tailor our care to their needs. Unlike some other businesses we don’t charge any extra for providing more intensive assistance – we see it as giving something back and helping give a new responsible owner some support.
